We have an immediate opportunity in our Pittsburgh,
PA territory
for:
Commodity Manager -
Plastics/Mechanical
Responsibilities:
- Provide supplied material and service solutions at the optimal
value
for our internal customers.
- Create and implement commodity strategies.
- Determine the suppliers necessary to support current production as
well as future growth.
- Assure that suppliers meet performance requirements in quality,
cost,
delivery and service.
- Source new suppliers as necessary.
- Identify viable technology solutions for incorporation into NPD
designs.
- Communicate supplier technology changes to Respironics Business
Segments.
- Manage Quarterly Business Reviews(QBRs) with suppliers to drive
performance improvements.
- Implement open book accounting with all suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts/long term agreements with suppliers.
- Develop and mentor purchasing engineers
This position also serves as the Business Segment Manager for all
Patient Interface activities that are not the responsibility of the Respironics
Asia Pacific group.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or BS degree in related
discipline with applicable experience in new product development and
commodity management. MBA highly desired.
- 10 years experience in commodity management or design and
procurement
experience in new product development.
- 10 years experience in Plastics manufacturing/sourcing/design.
- Experience with AQP processes desired.
- Established relationships with plastic resin suppliers desired
- Proficiency in cost management, strategic planning, negotiation,
understanding of manufacturing cost accounting
- Position requires travel 20-30% of the time both domestic and
international.
